Glen Taylor School has recently joined Manaiakalani. Apart of being Manaiakalani we are required to make a film for the 2017 film festival. Naima,Rose and myself have worked really hard on this movie and we think we did a decent job. Please sit back and enjoy our film for 2017 film festival!!!!!

 IT'S THE LAST DAY!!

Today was a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day. Why? Because I did absolutely nothing! except for stuff my face with chicken and chips,pizza,soft drink, Doritos and everything and anything else you can think of. I know you're probably thinking "what a PIG" well you're right and i'm proud of it!
What happened today was unexplained but there is one thing I can say...

Camp Fundraising Idea's

This year the year 7's and 8's are going on camp. Going on camp might sound like a piece of cake right? NO! You have to pack clothes and sleeping bags then take them everywhere you go and once you get there you have to unpack and make room for the other people you are staying with BUT I am not complaining because at the end of the day you could be  settled down with your two best friends. Anyway enough about my problems that nobody asked to hear, The real issue is that our principal and deputy and all the other teachers that helped have worked there backsides off to get us to go to the beautiful place we are going to for camp and us students just sit around and do nothing so the teachers in the senior syndicate have decided to put together a padlet. if you don't know what a padlet is let me tell you. So what a padlet is basically just a place where students or teachers or anyone can write ideas or suggestions down. I don't know what else you can do with it but that is what i think it is. Anyway, the senior teachers have organised a padlet where both classes write down things  we could do to raise money for camp. This is Room 12's padlet and this is some of our idea's for fundraising. Hope you like it.

If you don't know what a Pepeha is it is basically just a piece of writing that tells you a little bit about yourself but what the different thing about it is that you have to write it in a  different language.

Room 12's Star Sign

A few weeks ago Room 11 and 12 created a bar graph about there classes star sign. we had to go around asking people in our class what there star sign was then we had to tally it. Something I found out while doing this activity is that the most popular sign is Cancer with a total of 7 and the least popular sign is Virgo with a total of 0 which was surprising. My sign is Scorpio and that had a total of 3

Last term room 12 created some math poster's to stick on the first page of our math book's. We were allowed to do it on either a google drawing or on pixlar. I am proud of what I have created and I hope you like it too.

Mother's Day Project

Last term room 12 decided that for mother's day we should give our mother's something special. Not a boring card, much more special. We decided to create 3d letter's for them. You're probably thinking "Oh well that's not that special." Well yeah it might sound boring but we worked really hard to create them which is why they are so special. They were the letter of your mother's first name.First we had to decorate the letter then you had to create the 3d letter. We used cardboard for the cut out's of the letter then we had to somehow make them 3d. we also had to make a google drawing on how the procedure worked. Here is my google drawing. Brownie In A Mug

Last term room 12 were learning how to write a procedural piece of writing. If you don't know what a procedural writing is it is basically just a piece of writing that explains something or tell's you how to do something. Brownie in a mug was something that we had to create on either a google drawing or on pixlar. We had to watch a video of a girl explaining what to do and how to make a brownie in a mug then we had to create a procedural writing for it. I chose to do it on a google drawing and this is what i have created.

In room 11 and 12 we have been writing some I Am Poems. You are probably thinking hmm? What are I am Poems. Well let me explain. I am poems are poems that we created where the first lines of your sentences are already there and all you have to do is finish them based on what you're feeling.

Last term we made some posters about how to keep our Chromebooks safe and how to use them correctly. This was a fun activity and I am very proud of what I have produced. I hope you like it too. :D

Volleyball!!!

Volley Ball!!!

On Thursday's the Middle's and Senior's have volleyball. We have been doing volleyball for 7 weeks but sadly we only have 1 more week left. The good side to that though is that when it is our last session Toni (Our Coach) said she will bring music and lollies and that we will be having a tournament which sounds like fun. At volleyball Toni teaches us techniques and ways to make us improve every time.At the end of every session we have a game to warm us up for the actual tournament. Toni always makes sure everyone is participating so we can

get better even if people don't want to join in she always finds a way to convince them to try and they end up loving it. Sometimes we do it in the hall an sometimes we play on the court but it depends on if it is wet outside. I enjoy volleyball because it is an activity i can do with my friends and that anyone and everyone is aloud to join in.

Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Nadia and I am a year 7 currently attending Glen Taylor School. I am 11 years old and I am Samoan European. I am in room 12 and my teacher's name is Miss Siale.

As a learner i enjoy reading,writing,cooking,drawing and hanging out with my friends and family. I am the youngest in my family with only 1 brother and 0 sisters but i do have a cat and a dog. In my spare time I like to listen to music and watch videos on YouTube. My best friends at school are Naima and Rose but my Ubf (Ultimate Best Friend) is Savannah but she doesn't come to this school.

I am good at reading, writing, and being weird. I find math challenging and working with people i don't know uncomfortable. One thing i am looking forward to this year is camp because I can get away from home for a little bit and i can spend time with my friends. I am also looking forward to being a senior this year. :D
